T17th IAOS and 3rd ISI Zambia Conference postponed due to COVID-19

The Government of the Republic of Zambia through the Zambia Statistics Agency (ZamStats) was scheduled to host the 17th International Association for Official Statistics (IAOS) Conference and 3rd International Statistical Institute Regional Statistics Conference in Livingstone in October 2021, under theme “Better Lives for 2030. The conference is organised in collaboration with the International Association for Official Statistics, International Statistical Institute and the Zambia Statistics Agency.

In response to the global COVID-19 pandemic, which has affected societies and systems in countries around the world, respective governments have continued to put in place measures including restricted travel to ensure the safety and health of the citizens. Given these unprecedented circumstances, a decision has been taken by the organisers of the Conference to postpone the event to a later date in 2022 or 2023 depending on the evolvement of the pandemic.

Zambia as the host country working with the organisers, will continue to monitor closely this evolving situation including in determining the new dates of the conference, which will be communicated in good time before the event.

In the meantime, ZamStats and the organisers would like to sincerely thank the paper/poster presenters, facilitators, sponsors and those who have continued tirelessly to work to make the conference a success. .

Please be rest assured, Zambia will maintain and continue cooperating with organisers in preparation of the conference. It welcomes all the participants to this important statistical event once the date is determined.
