Annual Food And Non-food Inflation, September 2026 (%)
Annual food inflation for September 2026 was recorded at 5.8 percent compared to 6.0 percent in August. This means on average prices of food items increased by 5.8 percent between September 2025 and September 2026. This was mainly attributed to price movements in prices of food items such as(Breakfast Mealie meal, Roller mealie meal, Maize grain, Rice local, Wheat Plain Household Flour); Vegetables (Okra, Cabbage, Tomatoes, Cucumber, Green pepper); Groundnuts and Dried beans
The annual non-food inflation for September 2026 was recorded at 6.6 same as August 2026. This outturn was mainly attributed to price movements in prices of non-food items such as Passenger transport by air (Air Fare Domestic, Air Fare Regional, Lusaka/London via Dubai) and Purchase of Vehicles
