Monthly Inflation Rates for Food and Non-Food Items
Monthly food inflation rate for November 2025 was recorded at 0.8 percent compared with 0.4 percent recorded in October, 2025. This means on average prices of goods and services increased by 0.8 percent between October 2025 and November 2025. This development was mainly attributed to general price movements of Cereals (including breakfast mealie meal, roller mealie meal, maize grain, Samp) Meat (Fillet Steak, Rump Steak, Brisket, Mixed Cut, T-bone, Beef Sausages); Fish (Frozen Fish, Buka Buka, Fresh Kapenta, Dried Kapenta Chisense); Dried beans and Irish potatoes.
The monthly non-food inflation rate for November 2025 was recorded at 0.6 percent compared with 0.5 percent recorded in October, 2025. This means on average prices of non-food items increased by 0.6 percent between October, 2025 and November, 2025. This outturn was mainly attributed to price movements in prices of non-food items such as Spirits (Scotch Whisky imported, Vodika, Gin) ; Garments (Ladies skirt imported,Ladies shirts (blouse), Ladies sweater, Boys shorts, Boys shirt); Accomodation services (Single room 3 & 5 star, Bed and Continental Breakfast, Bed (Single room in guest house)); Suitcases and Umbrellas.
